Come together as Americans? Probably not. It seems pretty clear that there is a very depressing number of people who aren’t going to be satisfied until the women are once again confined to the kitchen, bedroom and whorehouse, the gays are back in the closet, terrified, the Hispanics are only found in the fields picking produce and then dutifully returning to Mexico or wherever, other immigrant and minority groups aren’t found at all, the Jews are trying their very best not to be recognized while the Christians (except Catholics, who really aren’t Christian you know…) are never, ever, challenged. And of course, the blacks must stop being uppity and go peacefully to the back of the bus and stay there, in fear. Ah, paradise. Then, and only then, will America be Great™ Again. Then, and only then, can we contemplate “togetherness.”

The right wing continues to weaponize politics.

Democracy relies on compromise, the right wing fascists have declared that they would tear down America before they ever compromised on everything. Vote them out.

Let me see if I understand this. According to your post: “This law underlines the illegality of destroying public records.” Any county court clerk would be in jail for destroying public records. So this means that G W Bush and his cronies will be going to jail as well, correct. After all they destroyed millions of e-mails as well as other documents so they must go to jail right. OH! Wait a minute I forgot. This stuff is perfectly all right if, and only if, you are a Rethuglican.

I can’t wait for this election to be over but I fear for what looms ahead. I long for the days of the past when, after the election, we all pulled the load together, putting our differences behind us, calling ourselves Americans, believing in the Constitution and our American spirit.

    .

I fear that this election has only created tears in the American fabric that will only be mended with a new attitude of, “we’re all in this together”. I can only hope and pray, but I fear there will be taunts of, “I told you so”, and politicians who will continue to pander to those who would rather shaft the other side than compromise and do what’s best for the majority of Americans.

    .

Please, can’t we pull together and believe in America again ?

Trump, GOP paying consultant dogged by voter fraud charges

    .

Donald Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee have paid at least $1.8 million to a political operative whose roster of companies include several that have been repeatedly investigated for voter registration fraud, even as Trump has complained that the election is rigged against him.

Why, because YOU keep saying it’s factual over and over again? If this Whittle guy is such Mah-velous investigative journalist, why isn’t he commenting on FOX News, or NewsMax…or even Breitbart? Yeah, he cites the law correctly…but what does he offer as proof that Hillary broke it? Two things, his own says so, and some cheap pyrotechnic effects.

Oh, and here you are, posting one link after another to someone ELSE’S videos, someone ELSE’S words, and offering no thoughts of your own except to nod in agreement.

    []

And then you attack someone else as, “tiresome, unoriginal and shows lack of imagination and intellect.” Uh huh…in case you’re wondering what that loud, crashing noise is, it’s the sound of your glass house, coming down around your ears.

Meanwhile the State of Indiana continues paying a lobbyist $23,000 a month while he spends his time as a paid aide to the Trump/Pence team. Pence the fiscal conservative lets Indiana underwrite his run.

I agree completely with your whole post. Lyman is right too, that he just used a common quote at the end, I’ve heard “it’s OK if repubs do it” because that has been how it has been for the most part. Understand he assumed you to be a repub.

I am an Independent. Not a Libertarian anymore since they are for what Neo-Liberals are for, help the wealthy to be free from our interference to and the lack of any humanity expressed by them beyond use of personal weapons against each other. I wonder how they would fare from the private corporate militaries that would surely spout in any Libertarian land.

I am very concerned about what happens after the election. If Trump wins (not likely, but possible) then we are in deep do-do. If Clinton wins (which I expect, but I’m not counting chickens yet) then I am concerned how some of Trump’s more extreme supporters may react. He has created an atmosphere in which some may not accept the results as legitimate. Who knows what they might do?

    Breaking News:

    []

WASHINGTON — The F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, told Congress on Sunday that he had seen no evidence in a recently discovered trove of emails to change his conclusion that Hillary Clinton should face no charges over her handling of classified information.

    []

Mr. Comey’s announcement, just two days before the election, was an effort to clear the cloud of suspicion he had publicly placed over her presidential campaign late last month when he alerted Congress that the F.B.I. would examine the emails.

    []

“Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July with respect to Secretary Clinton,” Mr. Comey wrote in a letter to the leaders of several congressional committees. He said agents had reviewed all communications to and from Mrs. Clinton in the new trove from when she was secretary of state.
