Oh Henry…. Carrying those absurdities to the extreme…..But hey, how about some facts….The Republicans put our Embassies at risk by reducing funding for protection…. AND it wasn’t BILLIONS (~$400M)…. and it was the Iranians own money held for more than 40 years in US controlled banks~! But why bother with facts when you can get a dig in on Hillary, eh?

Say, how many embassy deaths were there under the last oh-so-responsible Republican administration? Just under fifty “Benghazis” worth, wasn’t it?

    .

Of course, your GOP apologists will explain in detail why each one of those lives doesn’t really count.

Remember all the embassies blown up and lives lost during the Reagan and Bush admins?

First of all, there was no US Embassy in Benghazi. Second, the State Department probably did the wisest thing possible regarding safety by moving all diplomatic personel and documents from Benghazi to a more secure location in Tripoli.

The State Department classified the empty location in Benghazi as a “Special Diplomatic Mission" to provide cover for CIA operations. Of the 35 US personnel in Benghazi in September 2012, 28 were CIA employees or CIA contract employees. The 3 remaining State Department employees in Benghazi were also security agents, not diplomats. Almost all US personnel in Benghazi had extensive military or security training. Their main job was to disarm the anti-government militias and “get information” from people suspected of terrorist activity.

The situation in Benghazi had deteriorated so badly in Benghazi in the previous year that Turkey and Tunisia had closed their consulates for security reasons. A convoy with the U.K. Ambassador had come under small arm during a trip to Benghazi earlier in 2012.

Ambassador Chris Stevens had made “a day trip” to Benghazi on September 11, 2012. He had canceled a similar trip a month earlier for security reasons.

As for the Iran deal, hey it is their money.
