Ok, so the threesome is going to become more of an issue soon. Holly’s not going to like getting rescued at this point. But, rip the bandage off fast and get it over with. Might as well find her next. Then give her a sledgehammer and leave her alone with the ship.
Although no words are shown, I’m sure they are being spoken. I was correct. The Wally Kirbee was holding was a recreation to get the emotion of grief from them.
That is so cute , Irving tapping Chic. I knew he was there from Friday. Wow, Somehow I think that unless Kirbee gets a mortal wound or something, Wally and Kirbee may become a couple.I really like Kirbee and she obviously loves Wally. It’s a bit confusing to get the time line straight. Holly went to Endtown with Doc Chase, and that is past history,This last creepy bit is in the present , I think.Holly is still missing from the present. When we see her again it will be in the present. They obviously are touching through the bubble so, now what? They are all still in bubbles.Does that seem accurate?
I wish go comics would let us have links back. It sure made things easier. They must have had lots of spam to get rid of that feature, And to not allow long posts. Oh Well. Is Endtown on Arca Max, or any other site?
Seems the cat is coming down in an angelic bubble.
Though, that would mean that the Kirb that Wally smooched was just a figment of Wally’s personal emotional machine. But, does seem that Kirbee is very happy to see Wally!
Here’s hoping this isn’t just a continuation of the illusion…
Aaron is able to convey so much with so little. I love the way Kirby is cupping Wally’s face and the amazement, hope, joy, relief all in her expression.
My guess is that the quartet (I’m including Irving) were together until they got to the room and that they were separated when we saw them separated in the crowd. Still I may be wrong. The “room” Kirbee and Chic are in looks like Unity so it could be that the Kirbee and Chic went there after the elevator incident or they may have that Chic and Kirbee immediately went somewhere else and Wally was alone when he watched Holly’s downfall.
Maybe the computer might realize that love is a stronger emotion than fear and grief. You would also think that each pod would only hold one person to maximize the emotional charge. I wonder who in the pod is real and who is an illusion.
I’ve been thinking. If “Lyn” is a recent bug introduced by Holly, (or maybe by “I”), then it’s going to really not want to let go of Holly here, either out of “jealousy” or because of the emotional power she’s generating. Now, there are two possibilities: 1) The ship normally doesn’t kill the people it uses for power; and 2) It DOES kill its batteries. In case 2, The ship (not “Lyn”) is going to fight to keep everyone from leaving. In case 1, the batteries died because the captain wasn’t there to give the “safe eject” order. So, the ship would let everyone leave, but “Lyn” takes over and everyone is ejected so “Lyn” can love Holly to death. Holly’s instability may be in part due to the psychic ditto connection to the ship, via Wally’s ditto ball.
I just remembered a parody of “Rainbow in the Dark” I once wrote (from Flask’s perspective). It started. When I see HollyIt always brings me downCause she’s free and I see that its mewho’s lost and never found. Its strange to see Holly, who had been so big hearted in the past fall so far that we’d so many readers wishing that Wally’d abandon her for Kirbee. Granted Kirbee is a good person and I’d want her to find happiness. Its just bothers me to see our beloved mouse waitress fall this low.
I wonder if Aaron had any idea what he was doing when he started drawing Kirbee. Did he just write her for a few scenes and watch as she took on a life of her own?
I fear when they find Holly, she will be in a personal paradise, her illusions of a normal form and life with her hubby and a child. The ship capturing a wild mutant as a power source, that being the Ex, whose psyche still lives in the wild monster form.
Some people have speculated over whether or not Irving is a mutated human too.
I think this strip answered that question definitively, since an ordinary insect would not have the mental awareness required to deliberately take the action of alerting one person to the presence of another, as Irving obviously just did.

Ok, at least now we know they are real and they look ok!

But what have they done with Holly?!?!

Or is it all an illusion, because there is two Wallys?!

I can only think of Kerbee’s joy upon seeing that he’s not dead after all. And then it overloads the ships computer and burns it out (I hope).

What a joyous reunion! I plainly hope that Holly be found too and that she’s okay, but that remains to be seen.

They seem to be reaching through the bubbles to touch each other. What’s next, will Wally pull them into his bubble or will Kirby pull him out?

Is she grabbing him or pushing him away?

Powerful 4 slides. Can only imagine the relief they feel.
But I do, for some reason, feel bad for the fake Wally just being dropped like that…but I also can’t help but laugh at the same time…lol

Whatever happens after this, today’s reunion strip is wonderful.

I think the three are still in the elevator room illusion. It seems like the illusion becomes weak if your strong-willed and know it’s an illusion.

Not really concerned about Holly. But I bet the ship is feeding off of her anger issues.
