A single payer system would be better. Why would all of the existing health care insurance companies need to be put out of business? Could they not administer the payment process, each using the same medical codes, each code having the same dollar amount instead of the existing hodge-podge.

You do know it was the republicans that have thrown every monkey wrench they could into stopping Health Care for Americans. They want your tax dollars to go to their billionaire friends like Trump and dump the the rest into what is already the world’s most expensive military.

The Affordable Care Act is a glaring failure. Ask your employers how much more they have had to dole out in increases. How much have your premiums gone up?.And if single payer insurance is so good, I have a few questions for folks:.1) Why is the VA so broken?2) The Indian Health Service runs out of money every year, why?3) If Medicaid and Medicare are so wonderful, why are providers option to drop or minimize acceptance of Medicaid patients when the reimbursements do not even cover the actual costs of providing this care?4) If single payer would save so much money why have Vermont and Colorado both abandoned plans to provide this? Vermont could not raise taxes high enough to pay for it – and they have only a 500,000 or so people to cover. Now expand that 600 times over to cover more than 300,000,000 people..I don’t know what the answer is, but single payer is not what the answer is in my opinion.

It is nice to see that civilizations have advanced beyond the “survival of the fittest” and take care of people who, through no fault of their own, cannot survive on their own. For example, Stephen Hawking has contributed more ideas in the field of quantum physics and astronomy than most of his able-bodied peers. We are still social beings and try to conform to the norms of our local society and some geographic locations have more positive outlooks than others, which seems to affect their political view as well, Saddness Belt.

@braindead08They don’t actually hate it; they just want us to pay every last cent we have to get it.

This toon accurately depicts the state of healthcare. The president is at least trying to do something to help. The US is in trouble and the legislature is on vacation. Sure we could repeal it, but that would mean the do-nothings would do something. We could make it better, but you’ll have to get your do-nothing Republican leadership to come up with a plan, and we know how that goes. We could build off of what we have, but without a leader that will do something other than block, that won’t go through. I don’t think the right-wing legislature will help much in getting this fixed. Great toon, keep going Obama, help is on the way.If you need healthcare, the Republicans will give you an anti-porn law. Sheesh how useless can these right-wingers be?

The GOP solution is to remove the other half of the stretcher and leave the guy on the ground.
