Remember the next election season for congress members!

Not only on Zika virus research, but on EPA, National Parks, campaign funding, etc..

Also Lyme Disease.

IF only the Democrats were bought and paid for. If they would put the health and welfare of the country above their owners it would be nice.

Yah, if only they would pass a Zika bill, and not a Zika bill without a dozen unrelated amendments on it…

It is business as usual. We can’t pass decent legislation because every district and state is in it for what they get out of it so they delay, deal, amend, and filibuster until those who can get what they want. Why do you think the tax code is so screwed up and we can’t quickly respond to Zika?

This is the same gang that can’t seem to get around on voting for a judge (it’s only a year or two right?) They can’t focus on jobs, not like a laser, not like a scope, not like 10-year-old prescription glasses, they won’t help us. These are the same ineffectual guys that couldn’t repeal OR replace “Obamacare” The same pea-brains who won’t do anything about gun violence because they are in the back pocket of a lobby. Actually is it any surprise that nothing is being done? If the Democrats really wanted the Republicans to do something about Zika, they would have to pretend not to care, then it would be the top priority (and a patriotic issue)

I felt the RANT coming on, but my meds kicked in.To steal a phrase, I’m preaching to the choir anyway.I never thought that I would see in my lifetime that commenters on the comics pages are more informed, intelligent and literate than most of the population.

The Dem’s are dragging their feet on the Zika funding because the Rep’s are still trying to defund Plan Parenthood in the same bill. Thats why the funding keeps dropping short. Its not that they don’t want to throw money at the problem… Its the a-hole Republicans sneaking their agenda into a real health hazard.

Democrats in the Senate are the ones who are blocking.

Really? What are those billions going to be spent on that will benefit thousands? Tax cuts for the rich?

Senators aren’t stupid. They are very good at getting $$$ from the people who tell them how to vote and they usually manage to dupe the electorate into getting themselves re-elected.

Republicons don’t care if you get sick or die.

OldCoal He would be more convincing if he didn’t vote Republican so much. Despite W. S. Gilbert’s comment in “When I Was a Lad”, there is much to be said for “party vote” in the parliamentary system (follow the platform or change parties).

But Mr. Burns will make millions off of this, so don’t worry. It’s not that he has a pea brain, it is that he is making a lot of money off of helping billionaires and nothing from helping citizens.

Also a reason they haven’t straightened out the Soc.Sec.. all these years. Afraid they would get voted out by raising the rates.Also they still get their money rather we do or not. If not a crook before going into politics they sure are before they come out.
