Matthew Davis: yeah, I spent some time going through the archived strips and was really impressed by how broad Jimmy Johnson’s reach used to be. It kind of reminds me of what happened to “Get Fuzzy” only Johnson is still working- just on a smaller scale- and Darby Conley’s strip kept shrinking away until he just kind of gave up. I think it goes to show just how difficult writing a daily strip is
I always have coffee for my Wife and I also cook for her from scratch, set the table, clear the table, then do my own dishes. She will do the same. We share All the Chores. A Big Part of Marriage is taking care of and looking out for your Mate, while Sharing the responsibilities and daily tasks. Some day one of you may not be there for your Mate and you can Never Replace them so Cherish All your Moments Together while you can !!! You-All Have A Great Day and Be Safe !
August 13, 2011 — Arlo and Janis go to visit Gene and Mary Lou — While walking on the shore, and contemplating life Arlo says they have steady jobs! On 11-15-11 Janis asks if Arlo is glad he doesn’t have to wear a tie to work now.
When we were both still working, Hubby had to get up an hour earlier than I did. He’d tiptoe out of the room, and then come back with a cup of coffee, sit on the side of the bed and talk to me, and then help me make the bed before he left for work. And when I came downstairs, my curlers would be hot.Lucky Lady, and I know it.

Can I assume that Arlo is retired? Seems a bit young for that but he never is shown or depicted at work?

I’m up early every morning (not by choice) and make coffee for my wife and mocha for me. It’s almost always cold by the time she gets up.
