It’s good that we have a broader selection of aspirational female heroes, rather than the played-out, stereotypical victim/damsel-in-distress roles. Of course there’s Rey, easily the most interesting character in The Force Awakens.
There are also “Root” aka Samantha Groves and Sameen Shaw from Person of Interest, which just ended the series a few days ago. They were two of the best female heroine characters I’ve seen written thus far.
