The Orlando shooting has been relabeled as the LaPierre Mass Killing.

One of my neighbors sked me if I had a gun and told me that I should have one to protect myself. When I asked what I would be protecting myself from, he told me “from people who come to take your gun”.

Varvel is correct, we must do something about these radical extremist assault rifles. Radical – relating to or affecting the fundamental nature of something; far-reaching or thorough. Like this assault weapon has affected the fundamental nature of people’s lives.Extremist – a person who holds extreme or fanatical political or religious views, especially one who resorts to or advocates extreme action. Like the madmen who shoot down a building full of people or the madmen who support this assault weapon. Assault – make a physical attack on. Like when you shoot someoneRifle – a gun, especially one fired from shoulder level, having a long spirally grooved barrel intended to make a bullet spin and thereby have greater accuracy over a long distance. Between navigation devices in vehicles, cellphones, and credit card purchases there probably exists an unofficial gun registration list that is not currently being utilized, but could be. When there is a hostage crisis, domestic threat or an emotional charged situation, do people in authority send in angry, belligerent, personnel to further inflame the situation, or do they send in negotiators to lower the emotions of the event and talk and reason with the person/people involved?

I have numerous hunting rifles, shotguns, and pistols, in varying calibers and gauges. I wouldn’t own an AR-15 or M-16, or “assault rifle”, as I used them in Nam, and for hunting or civilian use, they’re worthless junk, despite what the “self defense” folks say. I can use my hunting rifle to take down an attacker over a kilometer away from me. I can use a shotgun to keep him outside my home. Or a pistol, or shotgun to take an aggressor inside my home. If I don’t want to wake anyone, my baseball bat, or my sword can also do the job in the home, but the sword would make too much mess, so I’ll settle for the bat.

LARGE CAPACITY MAGAZINES HAVE NO PLACE IN CIVILIAN HANDS, PERIOD. Regulate and restrict them, It isn’t whether semi-auto or not, it’s ammunition capacity that makes mass killings possible, period. They’re also the ONLY reason for such large magazine capacity.

Mateen used a Sig, which is even MORE “military” style than an AR 15. Touted by them for sale only to military and police because of the firepower.

One of the last guys that shot up a bunch of people with one of these was a rich milk fed suburban kid. When that bigot shot those church people in S. Carolina nobody interviewed his parents or asked about his religion. And no one suggested shutting down those web sites or meetings where this was discussed.When clinics are bombed and doctors assassinated by “Christian fundamentalists” people don’t suggest banning those churches where they learned this was OK and that Jesus would forgive them. I do believe that the will to violence will lead to a violent act but these weapons make them so much worse.
