Cats have no reason to move from a spot that they’ve broken in … until they’ve worfed up a hairball then they’re like “OK, moving on.”

Luddi is a cat, not a dog.

I have cats that act the same – homestead a spot for a week or 2 and move to another.

Our cat does the same thing. About every two weeks he changes his snooze spot.

    I suspect it’s an anti-flea strategy.

“Before that, it was the window in the hall!”

Halls don’t have windows. Do they?

Bunnies change their favorite lounging spots regularly. Once one of ours had a favorite spot, on a towel in the middle of the living room floor. I happened to be sitting on it, when she wanted a nap, I got a wee nip on the bum as a reminder that it was nap time! Yes, M’lady, your space, M’lady! And some nice head pets while you settle in for your snooze? She really was a love. And the nip really didn’t hurt. (And if you’ve ever seen a bunnies teeth, you’d understand the restraint they use when gently moving a human hand out of their way!). Our current bunnie’s favorite snack is apple tree twigs, sticks, really, those teeth are remarkable!

Why do they always like the guest bed? How do they know the guests have allergies?

I think it’s a matter of instinct, changing their sleeping location every now and then to avoid enemies or predators.
