Crimestoppers – Yes, never bandy large amounts of cash at a casino, even though the casino has TV security systems and guards. Now Central Park in NYC at 3 AM – hey, flash the cash.

Panel 2 (or 3 if you count Crimestoppers): Mrs. D’B says it’s her husband’s tattoo. But with the way the covering is raised and the direction of her eyes, that tattoo must be on his leg – the small one.

So Mr. D’B drew out all of his money. Now we know why Mrs. D’B is getting friendly with Tracy yesterday (“Call me Penny.”)

“So why don’t the homeless get off the streets and out of the alleys? Despite their great physical and mental problems, they still have enough talent to write and draw the Dick Tracy comic strip.”

So Tracy does his detective work by watching TV news and reading newspaper headlines. Wow, what a sleuth!

    Good morning, margueritem.

I agree. Why just merely “bandy” cash when you can party with it?

Is it me or does the person in the casino look like he needs some more fiber in his diet?

Look at the pattern of the bricks in the last panel. The wall of the alley way appears to be curved. That’s all I got at the moment.

Like the song, Marg! I think Leaky should hear it. I don’t think the man withdrew all his money, Panel-Panner. He is/was a billionaire. Withdrawing $100 million still leaves at least $900 million in stocks, real estate, and baseball cards. So I think our “Penny” is going after Dick because he is so sexy, not because she needs to be supported.

monkeyshines - I think the M.E. is the love child of Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Dr. Mel.

Now excuse me. I plan to go bandy about large amounts of cash.

Um, yeah. He went to the bank and withdrew $100,000,000 from his savings account. If you get it all in $1,000 bills $1,000,000 dollars is 1,000 pieces of paper, and you can fit it in a briefcase. But he didn’t just withdraw $1,000,000; he withdrew $100,000,000. $1,000 bills are seldom seen these days, but the bank had 100,000 of them in the vault. Maybe he called ahead. So he put the money in 100 briefcases and then what? Did he bring 50 flunkies to the bank to carry the money for him? (They could carry two briefcases each….) Or did he drive a truck to the bank? You can’t fit that much money in a car, but a truck could do it. It wouldn’t even have to be a very big truck. Maybe he rented a truck from Penske. (He would know better than to patronize Uhaul, I think.) The bank employees loaded it all into the truck for him, and informed him that tipping is strictly voluntary. I hope it wasn’t an open truck – you wouldn’t want to see $100,000,000 get rained on….

Then where did he go? What did he do with it? What can you do with a truck full of thousand dollar bills? Whatever you do with it, it’s likely to cause talk….

Obviously he took the $100,000,000 to the casino, where he’s bandying the money around. For shame!

Wait – we may have misinterpreted this week’s Crimestopper’s Textbook. Seems there’s more than one definition of “bandied.”

“A bandy is a carriage or cart used in India and Sri Lanka, especially one drawn by bullocks. A driver of a bandy is a bandyman. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandy_(carriage)”

Okay, now I get it! He loaded the money onto a carriage or cart drawn by bullocks and bandied it to the casino. Then he bandied it about the casino, driving his bullock cart all about the casino with the bullocks tracking mud everywhere and pooping on the carpet. Naturally that will bring onlookers.

Now I suspect the casino janitor murdered him.

That’s what I Like about Cougar - he’s contemplating the case and the meaningful logistics of withdrawing that large sum of money.

It’s what Tracy would have done (before Locher) The NEW Tracy sees only “Blind Alleys” but he’s not looking at the one on the street corner where the cash is flowing.

He’s doing what he now does best - standing around and waiting for ‘something’ to happen.

THINK ’HARD’ about IT ! - Can you recall ANY CLUE Tracy has got in the past 4 years that helped him to solve a case ?

You won’t ! - They only ‘pop up’ to provide the ILLUSION that we have a REAL Detective at work. His never pan out.

Good observation FlightSuit, on that curved wall. It may well be the entrance to a tunnel. It’s the first ‘HINT’ the Author has given us that grave robbers/body snatchers may have been at work here.

He’s just had the Blank in, maybe the Mole has returned underground. Then there is that 100 year old Tattoo Artist (12-29-71) that did the Treasure map on Gravel Gertie’s head. Tracy (if he still had his ‘smarts’) might want to question that guy for recent ‘undercover’ work ;-)

To be absolutely honest with you the Notebook entry this time was actually valid. I know of at least two incidents in which professional poker players were attacked. Doyle Brunson (two time World Series of Poker champion and generally acknowledged as “the godfather of poker” was attacked as he was entering his home in Las Vegas and he and his wife were tied up by the robbers before he faked a heart attack and the thieves fled. Greg Raymer (2004 World Series Champion) was attacked by two men with gunsin the corridor outside his hotel room after a winning session. He managed to hold them off until the police arrived.

Another Fantastic all-new Sunday Dick Tracy adventure comic strip! Cool colors today in those first two Panels!

I also like the coloring on the newspapers today. Rocking!

Everyone’s has their favorite panel today; mine has to be the one where we see Tracy’s eyes. Just a Great Panel. From the background colors to Mrs. D., this one is an awesome Panel.

Others may like the doctor at the morgue showing Mrs. D. her husband’s shoulder tattoo or the last Panel’s sewer-like alley-way tunnel. But my choice is fantastic for the coloring alone! Fun stuff today!

Can’t wait for another fun week of new Dick Tracys….. Thanks GoComics!
