I am saddened and more than a little frightened that it has gone so far. I thought from day one of Trump’s campaign that he was the best thing that could have happened for Hilary’s campaign. I wouldn’t have been surprised to find out he was working for her all along.
Everyone rails at Trump, and Rall rightly compares him to Hitler (although I think Mussolini is a better comparison). But how about we consider that Trump is merely being forthright about Republican policies and attitudes, especially among the “base”. Lot of fascists here in the good old USA.
That happened, incidentally. In the 1930s, the popular view was that Hitler was only using Antisemitism for political reasons — to get votes — and he’d drop it and be business-friendly when he got elected. Godwin’s Law notwithstanding, it doesn’t mean Trump = Hitler, but it does mean that we should not make the same mistake twice. We should hold politicians accountable for what they say. This has decidedly NOT been done with Trump at all. The media repeat anything he says, whatever lies he spouts, without challenging him at all. This is bad. And this should be done for ANY candidate, just to be clear.
Hitler failed to be elected president of Germany then – he was considered too extreme(1932: 30 %). Even the NSDAP (Nazi-Party) never gained more than 44 % of the national popular vote.
It’s just a coincidence that Mussolini’s slogan was “make Italy great again!” This is probably disturbing to the Koch brothers since their father, Fred, was a fan of Benito. The John Birch Society, which he co-founded, was based on fascism. But the boys don’t seem to care for Trump.
Clinton never dodged the draft. What he did was resign from the ROTC when he had a chance to go to Oxford. Apparently his draft number was so high, the Viet Cong would have had tobe going up the Mississippi for him to be called.

Perhaps you can get a PR agent who makes African dictators look good like Trump did.

If this is a shot at Cruz and/or Trump, the comparison has some validity.

[Just in case echoraven is not being faceces] Hitler was a “socialist” to the same degree that echoraven is a genius.

Hitler is exactly who the country really wants but they will settle for Trump.

Bill_ClayHe was so successful, he wanted to make the whole world great; or, as he expressed it, “Heute Deutschland, Morgen der Welt.”

If I had to pick the Nazi Trump most resembles it would be Goering, not Hitler. Hitler planned and connived his way to power.
Goering kind of fell into power the same way as a result of knowing the right people at the right time.
I think that Trump was just as surprised as most people by his initial successes.
Also Goering had the ability to pick up on a good belittling nicknames for the regime’s opponents, much as Trump has.
My nickname for Trump, by the way is “Carrot Top”. Petty, mean and based on a physical characteristic. Just like Trump likes it.

Hillary identifies as Hitler hence her suggestive first name. I hadn’t realized her ’change treatments had gone that far.
