One reason why I don’t go to movies any more. It is not worth paying the ticket price to be assaulted by volume so loud I can’t understand, gratuitous sex and violence, and lack of story line. Not worth it.

Do movies really cost $15 now? Think I paid $10 at the theater in 2012 to see “Silver Linings Playbook,” two hours I will never have back.I do Roku for movies now and that’s free. For good reason in too many cases, but still…

I have been known to fall asleep during bad films ( and some good ones ) including “action” pictures. Car chases and gun battles don’t particularly hold my interest.Of course, my personal best was The English Patient that I was dragged to see and slept through the entire movie !

I am not saying movies are expensive in the Theaters but the last time I could afford to go to the movies I was 17yrs old.

Somebody inform Fandango. Netflix, Hulu, Roku are winning. The tickets costs too much; I’d sneak my own Raisin-Nets in if I went; and the G/F and I can watch what we want when we want to.And I see that I am in First-Class company on this.

When I was a kid, we would go to the movies for a quarter and be able to stay and watch it a second (and sometimes a third) time on that same quarter. Concessions were a nickle or a dime, depending. Unlike today’s movies, those were entertaining.
