No wonder those zit creams were not very effective; these days we’re told that acne is caused by a virus. Of course next week they’ll come up with something else.
It was a beautiful day, the sun beat downI had the radio on, I was drivin’Trees flew by, me and Del were singin’ Little RunawayI was flyin’.Yeah I’m runnin’ down a dreamThat never would come to meWorkin’ on a mystery, goin’ wherever it leadsRunnin’ down a dream
leftwingpatriot’s post at the top of this thread shatters every post since (including this one). I can only add on as remembering that’s EXACTLY how math class felt. And science, too. My mental refuge was the virtual ballpark. One of baseball’s inherent beauties is that time doesn’t matter; time is measured in outs, not clocks. Same with traditional cricket.
what the HECK? THESE aren’t from 2016, I remember reading them in my calvin and HOBBES books. I was expecting to see calvin and hobbes strips that were actually FROM the date they SAID. why lie that calvin and hobbes is back in BUSINESS to get ATTENTION?
English class caused me to have the same feelings—the instructor wanted to know what the speaker was actually saying when he spoke a particular line (Skakespeare, or Henrik Ibsen play). How am I supposed to know what a medieval or Victorian character has on his or her mind—I’m not a psychologist or psychoanalyst ! ! ! !
One wonders how dear little Calvin would fare in a home schooling environment? Is he a self-starter, self motivated, have the attention span to see a task through to completion?

I can empathize with him. Math and I were not good friends. English, Grammar and History were my passion.
