Hobbes is smart enough to wish for things he can get.

A cat with warm sunlight on his tummy is a contented being.

Calvin, perhaps, when you grow up you will learn the secret of being content. But I’m not holding my breath on it.

There was a later strip in which Hobbes wished for a sandwich while Calvin wanted world powers. Hobbes got his wish.

Since moving to Florida a year ago, I am happiest sitting in the sun every afternoon on my lanai, by the pool, with a good book! Serenity now!

The big question is, what would CALVIN wish for?

“Let’s here it for Mr. Met!” Who is this Mr. Met? I’m a Yankee fan and I don’t follow expansion teams.

That’s it, what we really need!

Hobbes would like it in the Kingdom of Bhutan, where Gross National Happiness has precedence over Gross National Product.

Just the simple things in life.

What a sweety, chuckle…chuckle….gurgle…gurgle…

Riches and power don’t lead to happiness. I’m dirt poor and I’m pretty durn happy…

And then there’s those of us who just wish for the rent money…

I think it was Alan Watts, talking with a friend, and the topic of some really, really rich guy came up, and Alan said, “I’ve got something he’ll never have.” “What’s that?,” asked the friend. “Enough,” Watts said.

As the Sheryl Crow song, “Soak Up the Sun” goes, “It’s not having what you want. It’s wanting what you’ve got.”

God allone is enough!!

That was me last night covered up in my clean duvet cover and pillow.
