And there is a check from the rendering company. How thoughtful!
The Duke.
I despised Bruce Dern for an age after that movie. He played it very well.
I think that was my favorite John Wayne movie of all time.Though The Shoottist was pretty good too.
OK, I’ll spark some controversy (maybe). John Wayne made two great movies, The Searchers and The Quiet Man.
I enjoyed many others but these were his greatest.
good likeness of mr. wayne
Rooster Cogburn and the Lady, Red River, and El Dorado. Rio Bravo was good, too.
My favorite John Wayne movie would be ‘The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance’, followed by ‘The Shootist’ & ‘The Searchers’.
Why is no one mentioning Red River?
Red River 1948 Dunson leads a cattle drive, the culmination of over 14 years of work, to its destination in Missouri. But his tyrannical behavior along the way causes a mutiny, led by his adopted son.
The only ones I really like are Stagecoach and 3 Godfathers
Donovan’s Reef. And any western that Wayne was in. Didn’t care for the war movies but then I don’t like any war movies. Not my thing.
“She Wore a Yellow Ribbon” is on my list.
How about his worst? John Wayne as Kublai Khan? Whose brilliant idea was that?
Rio Bravo is my favorite western. In Harm’s Way is my favorite war movie. Donovan’s Reef is my favorite ‘other.’
Of coarse I also liked Hatari!
