Three not so wise men
The rider was a ventriloquist that could make the donkey move its lips for his act. He could stand to the side and still make an ass of himself.
Two of them thought they knew shortcuts – different ones, of course, and the third was to stubborn to ask directions.
These were the three Not-So-Wise Men.
