Once the wife and went to one of those restaurants. $300 for two dinners. But that was many years ago. Today maybe $3,000.

…they made up for the outrage by filling their pockets with plastic utensils, coffee stir sticks, napkins and condiment packets as they made for the door……

I’m really surprised they didn’t chow down and then claim they couldn’t pay, and they thought it was one of those set your own price places. The restaurant would settle for throwing them out, and it’s not like they were ever going back anyway. (And Dale either has early dementia, or defective hearing aids.)

One would think that Tommy DeVito, Bob Gaudio, Joey Long and Frankie Valli might be a bit too cerebral for this lot….

I’ve read this strip for years, but still don’t know the relationships of all the characters. Burl and Joy, husband and wife. Patty is their daughter. Is Timmy her son? Are Jerry and Verl married? Ma is mother of Verl and Joy, correct? What is the relation of Marlene, and what is her husbands name? Thank you in advance for anyone taking the time for me.

I think that Dale and Marlene are married. Ma is Burls MIL- Joys mother.
