I’m more interested in Kim Davis, the Kentucky county clerk who has chosen to go to jail over upholding a law she doesn’t agree with. I’m wondering how much support she would have for her decision to fight this rather than resign, if she were a Muslim choosing her beliefs over a Supreme Court decision.
Already, two of the tightie righties that lurk around Rall (groupies?) either completely miss or choose to ignore (so they can spout right wing sound bites) Rall’s point. The right is so sorely lacking in critical thinking skills.
Well, she could follow the example of St. Matthew the Tax Collector. He left the “seat of custom” and got up and followed Jesus. But Matthew didn’t KEEP ON being a Tax Collector (who were despised because they A) worked for the Romans, and, B) were generally known to be corrupt!) And he certainly didn’t sit there in the Tax Office refusing to collect the taxes (i.e., rendering unto Caesar) and preventing the OTHER tax collectors from doing their job.…Ms Davis could also follow the example of Zaccheus the Tax Collector. Remember him? He was the little short fellow who climbed a tree so he could see Jesus over the crowd. Zaccheus actually did keep his Tax Collector job after his dinner with Jesus, he simply vowed to do it honestly from then on, and he paid back those he had previously cheated (four-fold!)….Now THAT’s how to follow your conscience.
As she’s an elected official, unfortunately, you can’t just fire her that easily. She’d basically have to be more or less impeached first, which is a lengthy legal process, etc.Otherwise I agree. While I’m not really pro-gay myself, if she really had an issue with it, then quit the job.
All of a sudden “destroyed” becomes a much wider category. Typical. That’s sloppy reasoning. So, I ask again. What businesses have been destroyed by the “Gay Mafia”?

All sorts of competitors. Go elsewhere and let him have all the gay business. See how long he stays open.

Mr. Rall, nice job. This is a near perfect inversion of the case in Kentucky.

Just because it is allowed throughout our nation doesn’t mean you can do it in your home town. Yes, we are a nation of laws, sorta. Ask Clive Bundy.

Saw a cartoon where a Vegan had a job as butcher; analogy with a pharmacist refusing to sell birth control pills. Bad career choice.

Where does “freedom of religion” include the right to deny freedom of religion of others? It sure doesn’t come from God as that adulteress claims.

Other than the lie of there being no other competitor, why is this concept so hard to grasp?

Please give us some examples of businesses that have been destroyed by the “Gay Mafia”. There must be some. You certainly wouldn’t exaggerate.

I know what destroy means. You’ve done nothing but regurgitate right wing sound bites. You proved nothing. You are either ignorant or a liar.
