This is an OUTRAGE! What? Starting school in AUGUST! Labor Day is still a WEEK AWAY! It's RIDICULOUS! Oh, get over it. In some parts of the country, they went back to school three weeks ago. When you try to de-outrage my outrage, Francis, it only makes me more outrageous. That's hard to believe.

When I was a child summer vacation ran from Memorial Day to Labor day. But now they have longer vacations during the year…We never had a two week “fall break” and “Easter vacation” was only about four days long and a week at Christmas. Now they have two week breaks spring, fall, and winter. As a result, the summer vacation has shrunk to about two months.

Around here, some schools don’t actually start until after Labor Day because of the county fair that ends on Labor Day

This is the first time I’ve seen a comic acknowledge that school starts in August now. Here in Hamilton County, Tennessee, the kids started back on August 13. Teachers had to return to work two weeks before that.

I was teasing my daughter about something, and it took me a while to let it go. A few hours later I brought up the situation in her presence with her sister, and my daughter told me, Oh, Get OVER it!. I said, I got news for you, I’m still under it!. (I guess you had to be there, we all laughed though.)
