What doesn’t get mentioned enough is the Republicans who are not only calling for tax cuts for the wealthy, but also tax increases for the poor. This of course would be the result of the flat tax so many R’s call for these days.

@CeraboogeI suppose calling it a flat income tax would technically be accurate, but really all we need to do is admit that INCOME IS INCOME IS INCOME IS INCOME. And tax capital gains or other “unearned” income at the same rate (for each of the marginal rates) as earned income. Problem solved (in an honest intelligent country, that is……know where to find one?)

@sueamarlucanSince you bring up Greece and its debt…Do you realize that ( as Piketty pointed out ) while Germany lectures Greece about paying off its debt, Germany never paid Germany’s debts from World Wars I and II. Do you think this is just?
