Norway has very restrictive gun laws, they’re an advanced country and yet a Norwegian killed 92 young Norwegians in the largest mass shooting ever.

How about the 30,000 gun deaths every year in the US. We may not have the record for the most killed in a mass shooting but I bet we hold the record on the number of mass shootings.

“How long should we wait…..” Perhaps by diverting attention to that flag, the gun issue will be neglected. Again.

Jeff you are making a bad generalization here; not all gun owner are republicans, or racists, or would want to go kill anyone. Some are even democrats. I think you should make an apology.

We need better gun laws. The 10,000 we have now aren’t working!

Let’s require a background check similar to that needed for a Top Secret security clearance, list every residence since 1957 and 25 references.

How long after a mass shooting should we respect the dead and not prostitute them for political gain?

It’s not just Republicans or Democrats, blacks or whites, children or adults who commit or are injured by gun violence. The only thing all gun violence has in common is the guns.

More background checks won’t keep guns out of violent or careless hands. Fewer guns is the only real answer.

The NRA didn’t wait. Not even a Minute..Houston-based lawyer Charles Cotton, listed as a national NRA board member on the gun lobby’s website: “Eight of his church members who might be alive if he had expressly allowed members to carry handguns in church are dead,” Cotton wrote..

The government has done away with thr 1st ammendment, now they are looking hard at getting rid of the 2nd. amendment. It’s not so much a gun problem as much as aa racial hate problem.I thought when Obama was elected that we were truly leaving racism behind, but instead it got way worse. Or nation regressed about 20+ years.

It could have been worse. He could have filled a half dozen pipe bombs with nails. Any idiot can make a very effective pipe bomb. Easy to make, impossible to stop you from acquiring the materials to make them, and potent in results. When loonies start putting down guns and taking up bombs (Oklahoma City ring a bell?), things will be much worse. When loonies want to play God, they use a gun. When they really want to kill a lot of people, use bombs. How many people could Timothy McVeigh have killed with handguns or even an imitation AR rifle? Yet he killed 168 and wounded 680 more using basically fertilizer and diesel fuel.

If you feel it is better in Australia, well, no one guards the border to keep you in this country, do they?

I believe that a government that does not respect its citizens should have a reason to fear them.

As long as they let me vote and write letters to the editor, I don’t need a gun.

Taking guns away from citizens works. Violent crime (as committed by citizens on citizens) was unknown in Germany 1933-1945.

If they don’t like what is said, they want others to leave,(or falsely claim they will.) They have no debating ability or valid opposing view. (OK some, not all)
