We can’t control lists, and bad guys don’t follow laws. So we should all be issued our assault rifle and increase taxes to give us all training. If this is going to be a gun free for all, lets be sensible about it.

The lists seem to suffering from the “garbage in, garbage out” syndrome. Let’s just throw up our hands, whine and do nothing to correct the problem. We can always avoid work by blaming the opposing party so that we can continue slacking off.

How about simply requiring every sale has to have a background check of the buyer. That would be sensible and fair. Right now about forty percent of the sales are done with no check at all. Having a law that is only half enforced is kind of stupid, you pay for it but don’t really get the benefit. But I guess expecting Congress to do anything is a pipe dream.

So improve the list data collection and make it way more transparent.

It seems the real problem is the list. But we didn’t really get to discuss who should be on that list, He who should not be named took care of that, then choked on a pretzel. That’s why you can’t get them on airplanes anymore.

Exactly, where was the scrutiny when we decided to make a list in the first place? Where was the list question for the TSA? It should apply whether it is for guns, airline security or what you are reading.

The person in the third panel appears to be a perfectly normal American teenager who just happens to be, like, Muslim.

OldCoal said, “Seriously, we can’t have someone wait a couple weeks to buy a gun while they challenge their presence on the terrorist watch list? This is a HUGE deal of some kind?”.It has been a few times in the past.Mobs were roaming the streets with sticks, bricks, knives, Molotov Cocktails, burning cars, dragging people out of trucks and smashing their heads in, burning businesses and homes with people in them..For that matter, they broke into stores and stole guns while at it — not that it matters when you’re helpless and outnumbered and unskilled in killing..The people in their paths really didn’t want to wait a couple of weeks.Of course, that’ll never happen again, will it?

By the way, if the list were magically perfect, people who were not interested in being terrorists but just wanted to kill folks wouldn’t be on it..Also, a man who has never been diagnosed as dangerous or crazy, convicted or even charged with a crime before, kills a bunch of people while swearing allegiance to assorted terrorist organizations who hate each other and weeks later they still don’t believe he was a terrorist, just a crazy killer..If you can’t fix that, don’t use it to not-fix something else.

Night-Gaunt49 said,@Mr Blawt“But we can control lists it just shows that the lists are are suspect due to prejudice more than actual critical thinking involved in real security.”.You admit the lists would accuse the innocent and miss the guilty and you still want it?.So much for rationality and safety.

True, but remember that most “moderate” Muslims are more radical than most extreme Christians. It’s due to what is actually in their respective holy books & how it is preached. If you are ignorant of what I refer to, spend a little time researching it. Google is a useful tool.
