Tellum looks a little snooty and sounds somewhat nosy in panel 1. WHAT A CHANGE WHEN HE IS AGHAST IN PANEL #3

Good morning Tracy and Sam fans. Additionally a hearty greeting to Gweedo ’it’s also legal here’. Someone called it yesterday. Ted’s house is a goner. Have a restful night my friends.

Jimmy said, “There was something buried here a few days ago and now it’s gone.” Tellum has no idea what Jimmy was looking for.

So, Ted’s house is “sliding into the lake”? It’s never good when you see your house moving on it’s own. It don’t know what Ted’s going to do, but I think we’re done with him for a while.

I am still not giving up on Jimmy. I have faith in his survival instincts and the billion dollar worth of gold is a very good incentive

If Ted wasn’t in shock yesterday (as it seemed to me), he should be today (panel 3), seeing his “little house” up the creek without a paddle. I wonder how much the joint was worth, and how much he’ll tell the insurance company it was worth once he has recovered his crafty wits? And, is Tracy hinting (to us) that he knows something about the gold (panel 2) but isn’t prepared to reveal it publicly just yet?

As something of a Media Celebrity in radio (and based on Arthur Godfrey?) . . .You’d have to think, this*Tellum -* is highly Naïve , , , Alarmingly “disconnected”, and unaware of the BIG events happening around him ?

Doesn’t the man read the papers like every one else ? It’s not everyday that someone steals Billions of Dollars in Gold from a nearby Train?

He appears to be the only resident in the area, and deeper roots, (one) with a Studio in the Lake district so you’d think, he’d have some ‘knowledge’ of that old, unused train tunnel opening on the Lake.So ‘self centred’ that he’s unable to hazard a connection ?

Tracy here. seems very ‘dismissive’, it’s clear he doesn’t like the man ? Something of a change from the Wormy (1950) past ! ?

@boboscar: thanks for post the list of dead villains. _________@SYDNEY PHILLIPS: maybe Ted is an introvert who is now in shock. He has lost his beautiful lake and house, almost lost his life twice and has witnessed Jimmy’s demise._________Be well my friends.

Do I detect a subtle smirk from Sam? Nahhh….

Quite the nosy guy, Tellum is, and wise of Tracy not to cue him in about the gold, lest Tellum makes a claim for it (he might claim Jimmy’s dig on ‘private property’—his, of course)

But his “Little House” has slipped into the lake, and his ‘property’ is gone. Like other posters said—he better have good insurance. If he doesn’t, he’s a bigger fool.

I imagine that the house’s value is a matter of record. The real estate agency that sold him the house may have the exact figure.-————————————————-The house’s value when he purchased it is on record, but that’s sure to be well below the latest tax assessment value of the property, which would include the broadcast studio, and access road connecting them. Of course, he could bought them like that, but only if the previous owner was a vain fathead like him.I’m sure Ted will be very imaginative when it comes to listing the house’s contents, though. Just as the rowboat with an outboard motor will show up on the insurance as a 20 foot sailboat.

Considering all the water flooding the salt mine, I wonder if the lake bed might collapse as well, or is that too far above the salt mine?

I suspect that the salt will dissolve into the water killing all the life in it making it “Dead Lake”.According to the news videos that Neil Wick and others linked us to some days ago, the real-life incident that this is based on had salt water running into the lake from the bay, because the canal started to run backwards because of the tremendous pull of the whirlpool. The lake became a salt water lake, but the aquatic life within the lake did not disappear altogether – it just changed over time to salt water species. Perhaps that is what will happen here?

Changing the subject to the lake, at some point in time, the volume of the salt mine might dictate that it is full, and the water should stop rushing in. If it drains the lake, then the lake was pretty small, or the mine was huge. To drain like that, the siphon has to vent somehow. Could be the shafts?
