Kirbee: “Maybe Miriam is talking about some other babies. You know, we’ve always been lucky like that.”

I thought that Holly’s reaction in the last panel was a little callous, but then I remembered that she has seen enough of death in the last six or seven years, friends who went to the surface and not come back, the whole rocket debacle ect… that she may have become a little hardened. She isn’t going to get too worked up about the faceless dead when she is trying to save the life of someone she loves.

Broken eggs. Massive fire. Crazed raccoon maybe wandering around out there. Wally and Phil replaying the Louis-Schmeling fights with a lizard-uber-alles overtone. It don’t get no better than this.

Holly has a point. All anyone can do for the dead is to mourn for them, and that can be done later. Right now, keeping the living alive is of greater importance.

Remember when the greatest problems you could have was baking an illegal cake with eggs and milk? Good times…

It’s interesting how much the Lizards care for the babies they have saved, mourning over their death, while they have killed any other species and used them as food…

They should just follow Miriam! Isn’t she headed back to the stadium anyway? And everyone else is there.

so Jim’s the catalyst, Sarah’s a red herring, Helena the Queen is mentally distraught…… Way to many questions and no obvious answers. Bravo Aaron…you have me waiting impatiently for the next installment.

Unlikely. She doesn’t know her way around the colony yet, and she wouldn’t have any reason to go down to the laundry area for starting the fire. Jim’s already in that area and he’d have Holly’s lamp. Jim’s the more reasonable suspect.

At least our intrepid trio are out of the tunnels without running into Jim. And I can’t see any smoke trace yet, so it must be at some distance. Love to see an overhead map of this place!

Kirbees reaction is a simple one really, the eggs are not food or babies until candled. At that point it assumes an identity to her ( neatly absolves her of guilt when eating eggs). Kirbee doesn’t seem to be one to over think things much anyway. Birthdays for the lizards might be the day they were candled, not the day they were hatched.

Let’s simplify speculation. Two things have hit that might destroy the lizard colony: destruction of the eggs, and the raging inferno downstairs. Quantify all the suspects by asking: who among them would want to destroy the lizard colony the most?

Place, motive, opportunity. The only one that has all three, and lacks an alibi for a crucial time period is…Irving.

I don’t like how Aaron is pushing for Kirbee to become a bad guy… I love her character! She is the only good lizard in the colony! Why does she have to be left behind, or go crazy, or die?? :C
