Good Morning Gang! reminds me of the time when my sister went to my grandmother’s outhouse and a spider got a little too friendly. You could hear that scream for miles.
I have to live with spiders regularly as I live in a basement apartment… Those who get too close to me take their lives in their hands, whereas if they stay away from me, then they get to live. :)
We use to practically drown the garden spiders out at the lake cabin and in the outhouse in DDT (this was way way way long ago). I am utterly ashamed of that but we were kids and didn’t know any better.
For some reason spiders now feel sacred to me.
Sudden spiders still make my skin crawl, but I do everything I can now not to disturb them.
I used to work in a shop where there were two guys afraid of critters. One didn’t care who or what was in his way. If he was confronted by , say, a spider he would leave the area by the shortest route possible with total disregard for life and limb.
A friend of mine is finally on the mend after many months in agony over a wound on her leg that just kept growing. They finally diagnosed it as a recluse spider bite (despite some of the doctors insisting they don’t live this far north). My friend is out of the wheelchair, off the crutches, and it doesn’t look like she’ll need to lose the leg.
(Yes, I know, hardly an original comment at this point - but maybe John has the same problem as the turtle in “Over the Hedge”, who’s constantly being called an amphibian by everybody.)
My daughter had to have skin grafts on her arm from a recluse. I spent four days in the hospital after a black widow bite, but it was a drug that I had just told the nurse that I was alergic to that put me there. Even after seeing that another nurse had written down my allergies, I still got billed for the four days stay.

Kingdom: Animalia - Phylum: Chordata - Subphylum: Vertebrata - Class: Reptilia - Order: Testudines
There’s got to be an off-color joke somewhere in Order: Testudines.

Some turtle species are omnivorous. So, some turtles eat spiders.
Maybe it was an arachnid scream.

Actually, screaming amphibians and screaming reptiles sound nearly identical, and it’s almost impossible to tell the difference… :)

Besides what Me_Again said, turtles are amphibious reptiles, so the confusion is understandable.

Yesterday it was a rake confused with a hoe. Today it’s a reptile confused with an amphibian.
