It still seems obvious to me that somehow opening the lid, triggers the apes to come up & out, not matter how quietly or carefully it is opened.

When the other two opened the lid, why didn’t the apes finish them off?

Does this story line seem to be going around in circles?Open the lid get an ape, open the lid get an ape, open the lid…

Lasso the ape? Knife the other, then kill the first, tied up one.

Pre-ice age mammals were huge so this ape species could be overgrown chimps.

Okay, I’m thinking that if Tarzan was that close to the pillar as shown in panel two, he wouldn’t be twirling that noose over his head like he is in panel three without the pillar interfering with it.

Two more of D’Arnot’s “Mon Dieu” hairy ape pals are about to be lassoed and tied to a palace column May Pole style. Now how can a 200lb Tarzan take on two 500lb giant PO’d off apes and do that? Mon Dieu, I sure as heck don’t know! :)> RopeThemApesAGowa!!

I didn’t know that there were rodeos in Africa. Where did he learn to rope anyway?
