I never have understood why people go to the beach on a hot day to fry on the sand.

Some of our South African beaches have grassy areas that one can put deck chairs and beach umbrellas on. In the Cape there is always a view of the beautiful mountains and on the Atlantic side of the Cape Peninsula the water is icy cold even in midsummer. There is usually a delightful breeze blowing in off the ocean. We are really spoilt for choice for beautiful beaches; Port Elizabeth, East London and Durban have a huge variety to offer. Different climates, different views in each case, come and visit us and see for yourself. :)

And in our winter – May to August more or less – you can visit our game and nature reserves. We have mountains inland as well.
