Not only that, but it’s a worthwhile endeavor. A lot of mother-daughter dissention has been hashed out over a pan of soapy water. (I presume that goes for sons, too, but I only had one sister and three daughters.)
Come to think of it, maybe we could have a large sink set up in Congress, and just get all the representatives to help with the washing up. Could solve a lot of problems, and it certainly wouldn’t hurt.
The two worst and neverending jobs in the house. You can get everything done and the glass you are drinking from is a dirty dish and the clothes you are wearing are dirty clothes. I guess since my dishwasher is now me, I’ll go with laundry, but I’d rather be vacuuming.
My husband does the dishes by hand and I do the laundry by machine – works for us. Dani Rice – I like your idea about Congress. At least they would be doing SOME work.
I already washed dishes once by hand today even though I have a dishwasher and detergent. I also washed a load of laundry. I guess I do what needs to be done. As for the 2nd question, if I forgot to do something I have no clue what.
We usually alternate on “doing” dishes; i.e., loading the machine and tapping a button or two. On occasion, we will hand wash dishes, sometimes together. As for laundry, I always do my own and my wife hers mainly because I like to use Tide and she does not…
I do all the cooking and cleaning, and I really dislike doing dishes. We finally got a little portable dishwasher for our apartment, we can now see the bottom of our kitchen sink.
I don’t mind laundry or dishes. Unless it’s a holiday, I do the cooking, so the dishes sit until hubby washes them for Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Year’s,

Well, it depends on what I need it for….
Like… for eating, I prefer dishes. It gets messy, eating on laundry.
But when I want clean clothes, I have to do laundry.
Actually, I always thought all that was obvious.

Dishes by hand, laundry by machine after making sure cat is not sleeping on dirty laundry.

I am almost 62 yrs old and have never owned a dishwasher. I do them but prefer the ease of laundry!
