Two republicans read the new EPA climate and emissions rules. Republican: If we've learned anything from Obama's health and economic policies, it's that we need to kill these before they have a chance to prove they work.
Republicans are so vile that they even try to kill Republican ideas like the ACA!That tiny tweak to the disgusting US health care system is essentially ‘RomneyCare’.
The Republicans are against anything that they think will cost a business money. They were against OSHA, EPA and the ACA. I personalty have seen the effect of the first two over decades and clearly they have saved many lives and the health of millions of people. An yes, companies had to spend a little more to keep their employees from getting hurt and keeping the environment clean.
Calling people names is no way to advance your wrong logic. The fact of the matter is that the ACA was a direct off-shoot of an idea that came out of the very prestigious Republican think-tank (Heritage Foundation) that all Republicans supported and eventually Romney-care evolved from that also. It only became outrageous to the political right, when this President had the nerve to use the Right’s own ideas.
SizeofaPea: You wouldn’t be referring to that bill loaded up with corporate tax breaks, would you? The one that a total of 26 Republicans voted against – and only 20 Democrats (so the yes votes were somewhere above 380).I assume all the politicians in DC expect that nobody’s looking right now, so they show their true colors; corporations über alles.
Actually I know a number of people on the left who think that nuclear power is an essential part of the energy picture for a while at least. I don’t think it’s so clearly a right versus left issue. I have changed my mind several times about nuclear power.
Good points. If we could completely reorganize our economic systems around the world and also reduce the human population, then we wouldn’t need nuclear power. I don’t expect that kind of change in the near future (though it may be forced upon us).
Harleyquinn: was your rephrasing supposed to be snide? Because, except for the addition of religious nonsense, it’s almost right on target. Not “going to murder”, but rather “is NOW murdering”.As for Al Gore, that’s just standard RWNJ trolling.
“Fine, Mr. McFadden, but when a loved one of yours is killed by someone who had a previous run-in with the police and was let off easy for fear of offending a special interest group, draw us the same cartoon.”You know what scares me? We get most of our energy from highly polluting sources that are difficult and expensive to get to and have a finite supply of. People spend more time and energy defending existing polluting energy sources than advocating the developement of reliable renewable energy." Liberals don’t seem to care about anyone but the minorities.I’m sure you didn’t mean it this way, but it reads as “Liberals don’t care about white people.”

For better or worse, mostly worse, they may never forget, but they seem never to learn, either.

Tom Toles, slavishly supporting leftwing ideas since 1970.

No worries; by Toles’ definition they can still kill Obamacare itself. It’s never worked.
