OK, a little extreme perhaps. But. It is almost impossible to get the smell of tobacco out of upholstery and umbrella materials. I’m with Burl sort of. I wouldn’t wait, I’d go somewhere else.Where are they? Sun sets into water. West coast? Great Lakes? Canada? Michigan?
The podium is more likely the name of the restaurant, but in the larger picture, the only Sag Harbor I can find is the upscale community in Suffolk County, New York. There is some water between it and the rest of Long Island, but more likely you’d see the sun setting behind the land. Also, I really do not think these folk would be vacationing there (no Motel 6s here)….
But, but, both tables are non smoking…. This reminds me of the time before this province banned smoking in all public areas. The idea of a non-smoking area for some was just to remove the ashtray.
They’re outdoors!And the smoking and non-smoking tables are in alternate positions…
There’s no way any table gets less smoke than any other…and none get much cos there’s an ocean breeze….though the same breeze would carry the smoke to adjacent tables…
That’s why in the real world, restaurants have non smoking sections, not tables…and here in CA and many states, no smoking at all, like Ryan’s province.
As for their location… they’re NOT in the real world.

The laboratory in x_Tech’s company, X_tech Industries, or XTI, formulates it to our exacting specifications, and delivers it to me and to our other retail outlets…They also set up the pipelines and taps through which some of of our customers have Marg and Susan’s Ultra SS BB delivered directly to their homes.Previously, Marg did a lot of our marketing…. I have always been in charge of new orders, and also design packaging and flavors …
I’ve spent a LOT of time over the last few years developing products, which are then produced by XTI, under our brand.
X himself has invented many containers, nozzles, taps and other enhancements to our products, for which we are grateful…. and which he sells to the wholesale trade.

When the waitress told him “you can’t bring that in here” he got quite indignant and told her not to give him a hard time. “All I want is a place to sit down. I don’t give a * about smoking or non-smoking”.

They don’t have to watch them eat, a spectacle that would appear on a National Geographic special, if it weren’t so disgusting. .“…the feeding frenzy is savage and brief, leaving little of the victim, and the evidence of their attack will not soon be washed away, from the table nor their coats..”
this may be a tactic to avoid having to serve them. on the other hand why do our gang care about smoking or not ? They don’t care about their health and they don’t care how the food tastes as long as there is a lot of it
