Tracy, Warbucks, OK! So far so good!

Time for a recap, and wrap up of this story. On to the next adventure. Great crossover piece. Excellent job team Tracy.

That’s what I figured yesterday. It knocked them off their feet, but they weren’t very close to Kenyon’s house at the time. In fact, they were still close to the Silo house. It was a really big explosion, though. I love the art today. Apparently, Kenyon’s explosive is not stable at all! That’s what he was working on, I guess — making it more stable.

Gee Daddy, ya think?

I see Oliver Warbucks is a master at understatement.

Just to the right of the mailbox in panel #1, is that the tiny figures of a person or 2 being blown outward? Tracy & Warbucks?

It’s all happening here… right before your very own eyes!

Ouch! My ears are ringing.That was some instability, Mr. Warbucks!Time now to pick up the pieces, count heads, and see who is still (capable of) standing….

Good catch, Patrick! That is indeed a sword! So we’ve accounted for Warbucks and Tracy. Asp and Punjab were close to the explosion, according to today’s first panel. We still don’t know about Sam and Fritz.

I’m really not worried about Asp and Punjab. They’ve been in explosions before. For example, March 9, 2008.

Morning all. Yes, Warbucks now has his own big bang theory.

Amazing what three days can do. There’s been more action since Thursday than there’s been in WEEKS in this strip. Next week can’t come too soon!

NightGaunt, I’d imagine the CDC would show up too since the island was originally quarantined back in the day.

I can’t see the figure holding a sword in yesterday’s strip.

I’m sure Axel survived the explosion. Couldn’t be anymore difficult then Abner’s dip in a cement pool!

Reminiscent of the 1975 Concrete Head explosion (“She Done Done It”). Same coloring. Hopefully the chopper with the automatic gunfire does not come next.

@Nun ‘Ya Bidness:I’m relatively new-ish to both Annie and Dick Tracy comics, less than a year,That’s very cool. What got you interested in Tracy? Was it the new material, or did you run across some reprints some where?

Methinks we will still need to take inventory of who survived the explosion. Im thinking Axel will go missing, but we will not find any evidence of his final resting place. (Cue Abner, Silver and Sprocket)

If you stuffed a Stradivarius with Kenyon’s explosive, would the resulting THOOM! be big enough to empty a hotel swimming pool? Show your work…

@Wayne: might be time for a recap-and-move-on, or we might be moving deeper into the question of who the late Axel worked for, and what he wants with Tracy. This whole Annie story might be the set-up for an even bigger Tracy arc.

I think the first time I ever encountered “Ye Gods” it was from Tracy’s mouth. Many, many years ago…

Just a hello to all the readers. the ANNIE story ends October 9, and the next two weeks are catchups on what’s been going on with various cast members.

Great art, nicely handled by the GoComics’ colorist (like the colorless shock waves – makes them stand out).-Now – to find Sam, Punjab and the Asp!

No NG I meant the reason they gave for Shuitter.. I mean Thun der Island being abandoned back in the 40’s was some sort of experiment gone wrong and they quarantined the entire island.. i’m sure the CDC would be interested in that, no?

It is definitely a sword. Zoom in on it. Make it as big as possible. It is definitely a sword. And not only that, but you can see Asp’s hat behind the other figure.

Gee, now we’re all set up for Ghote and Sail to return and “clone” Axel after he was blown to bits, too, lol…..actually, it’s kind of cool how Mike and Joe “kill off” their most interesting characters in a way that makes it viable for them to return, while leaving no doubts about the others that probably don’t merit an encore with all the top grade competition for the villains roles. This comic has two gears….great, and even greater!

After I played Warbucks in a production of “Annie” people are still calling me Mr. Warbucks.
