Only this time she’ll get caught, and now she may have revealed that Tracy is no longer under Axel’s influence.

Tracy’s plan is underway! I think Annie is clever enough to not get caught slipping that letter in. I’m not really thinking she’ll get caught at that. I’m expecting Sparkle to get the letter (or at least B.O.).

Everything is beginning to pull together. This story hasn’t been a ‘whodunit,’ but a ’why’s he doing it?’ and ‘just what is he doing?’If Professor Kenyon’s about to make his discovery , we should soon learn Axel’s ‘why.’And when Hotshot Charlie is debriefed, we should learn the where, what and how.But I’m betting Annie’s letter is going to be intercepted, and Axel might try to send her to the ‘dead letter office.’ (Alright, I couldn’t resist.)

Ya know, I’ve been wondering for some time, if the prof’s first name might be Stephen. Cause then he’d be Steve Kenyon. Nah.

Annie has outshone Tracy by far in this adventure up to now, resisting mind-control, getting the first letter out, helping Tracy back to reality, and now maybe getting a second coded message out. It’s a good thing for Tracy she’s on board! All he’s done is foolishly sail off on a 3:00 AM cruise without his Wrist Wizard and without getting any back-up (only leaving an electronic cue for Tess that got delayed for days), and instead getting captured and subjected to the Belinda device….

The Dick Tracy comic strip has officially ceased to be an action adventure! I miss it already!

I love this story. And that’s from a Tracy fan as well as an Annie fan. I expect Annie’s letter will get intercepted, but Tracy’s action will save them both.

Good morning DT fans. Tomorrow’s strip will probably be about either the Plenty family or Sam and Hotshot Charlie.

I wouldn’t be too hard on Richard. Annie’s been there longer and knows her way around this place better than he..We may be in store for a “Sweatbox” ending, and while I expect Dick and Annie to be rescued shortly, I don’t think Mike is going to spill the beans on Axel to us that quickly..I’m noticing houses already decorated for Halloween, and I seem to recall a promise that Li’l Abner will be back soon for his swan song…

So it’s all real time, and an elaborate stage set by Axel. The time travel bit apparently is a “red herring” meant to keep readers guessing, although I’m sure it may be far more greatly employed in the future. (Possibly a way to bring Flattop Jones back into the picture?) It’s a bit of a relief… although I can’t help but think how Fearless Fosdick might have dealt with time travel.

I feel bad for Annie. She had to use another root beer candy to get the letter out! LOL

I am just a little puzzled here. I thought that when Annie, in her universe, disappeared she was a teenager. Are we rewriting history with this story arc?

I sure like the old style police uniforms! They have genuine character and style about them that is lacking in today’s uniforms.

We don’t know what orders they may have gotten in reference to Annie.

It doesn’t actually sound like they are being forced to do anything. It sounded to me like it was their idea all along. All few excerpts from an interview on Sam Tweedle’s Pop Culture Addict (warning: there are a few slight clues about upcoming stories if you followi the link):

Sam: … How long did it take you to get the permission to do this story?

Mike: We wanted to do this since we got [Dick Tracy] but we didn’t want to do it as a one off. When we first did cross overs we’d only have the characters for one day.

Sam: How long is your Annie story going to last?

    Mike: Five months.

Joe: Shelley is also helping me figure out how to draw Annie, figuring out a girl of Annie’s size and age and just trying to help me nail down the look.

Sam: How old would you say Annie is?

Joe: I’m shooting for twelve. Just back from being a teen.

To them maybe 10 minutes, to us it is the wait between the ticks of their clock--He knows that. It’s just his complaint of the day.

I guess none of you live near a Hallmark card store. They have their Christmas ornament display up every July. This year, they have one of the shark from “Jaws.”Nothing speaks of the spirit of the season like a great white shark…
