I would rather have numb nerve endings than have my gums poked with needles; once the nerve ending is exposed the pain eventually goes away while the needles return.
I remember once, as a teen, my father took me to a burger place after going to the dentist and almost choking on a French fry because I couldn’t feel when it was in my mouth!

The worst was eating for the first time after I got my braces off. Tore up the inside of my mouth.

It’s easier to drink a beer from a bottle when your numb.

DMSO gets rid of the numb much sooner.

I’ve heard your not supposed to eat or drink anything after seeing the dentist until your mouth is no longer numb. Looks like nobody told Jon that.

I have bad memories of the dentist when I had 4 teeth out because of crowding.
The needles of anaesthetic was the most horrible pain I ever had. Never again.
