As someone who has collected vinyl records for years, I can relate. For example- when Michael Jackson died, used copies of Thriller went from selling for a few dollars to hundreds of dollars in one day.
This about sums up my view of the art world in a nutshell. (Not the artists themselves, mind you, but the business people who run museums and deal in art.)
