Hey, Republicans: fat (from K Street), drunk (on power), and stupid is no way to go through life.

How about to be a Republican - You work, you keep your money. You don’t work, you don’t have money.

“You don’t work, you don’t have money.” Are you expected to work from the day you’re born till the day you die?

Wow, kensurg, I didn’t realize you were a Communist, since you imply that people like the Bushes should have all their inherited money taken away. Only workers should be paid! Workers of the world, unite!

Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a Republican. But I repeat myself.

I’m right there with you, motive. Capt. John Smith’s “If you don’t work, you don’t eat!” was not directed to the lower-class laborers brought over to build Jamestown, but to the upper-class idlers who wanted to pluck the golden fruit from the New World’s trees but didn’t want to put in the sweat to build a successful settlement.

I’m not in favor of doing away with competition or the profit motive, but capital must be freed up from the Trust Funds so that those who are motivated to compete can actually profit. Abolish inherited wealth!

From 1944 through 1963 the top individual income tax rate was over 90% – a period generally recognized as among the most prosperous in American history, one which saw the rise of a solid middle class and enormous opportunities for creating wealth. Well-off people paid their taxes and still had plenty left to maintain their lifestyle and invest in new businesses, stocks, and real estate. So Republican whining about the hardships of dealing with the current 35% top rate is at least contemptible and at most laughable. Last I checked that’s called tax evasion. But of course Rich people don’t go to jail…unless you’re Martha Stuart.

Only 5% of millionaires inherited their wealth? Care to back that up with a citation? rikoshayrabbit, it’s like George Carlin said: “There is only one party, the Money Party with Democrat & Republican branches,”

That’s why they should be paying vastly higher taxes than the rest of us. They’ll still be making out vastly better than the rest of us. Shed no tears for any of them. If they themselves ever actually cry they have silk handkerchiefs to catch their crocodile tears.

Ted maybe you should start thinking about coming up with a new political party. You already have some followers here.

I on the other hand need only an army. A vast one. Unlikely.
