Dogs are very efficient grease residue removers. A bottle of bleach and water to spray the dishes after they do the job followed by very hot soapy water or dishwasher.
EVERYONE says “yuck” at this, and yet a lot of people let their dogs lick their faces, and even their mouths, as well as their kids’ (and even babies’) faces and mouths. Which I consider WAY more revolting!!!
Not in my house. Alix would be supervised as she washed dryed and put away every plate, bowl, pot, pan, and piece of flatware in my kitchen. Ask my kids, they tried something similar without the dog.
A mom visited her son and had dinner. The mom looked at the dishes and asked, “Are you sure these are clean enough?” The son replied, “They’re as clean as soap and water could get them.” Satisfied, the mom ate the dinner. Afterwards, the son put the dishes on the ground and called, “Soap! Water!”

Gotta give ya credit, Alix! You did a great number on your Mom and sister…and Biscuit seems to have liked her part, too… ;)

My son-in-law keeps trying to convince us that this is a good idea, too.

It would be a good idea – IF – followed by a run through the dishwasher.

Dog-spit doesn’t wash off too easily. Something in it makes it really stick to dishes.

Paper plates and bowls are a blessing for a single guy. If paper plates could stand the heat, I’d use them on the stove.:-)
