@liberalnlivinit, yeah. I remember how my wife and I went into a restaurant but after seeing them offering “Freedom Fries” on the menu, we just paid for our drinks and then left.

yeah, just who do those uppity French think they are? —not buying into cheany’s war on Iraq? after all, the name of the war is Iraqi Freedom! Just because we will kill 100000 of them, making their entire families and offspring instant enemies of us, so what? we’re giving them their FREEdom!can’t understand why the French government don’t want to help us bomb and kill innocent people.freedom fries, freedom toast , freedom dressing—-and —gotta change French’s Mustard to FREEDOM’S MUSTARD

One of the few times any member of the family showed any political leaning.

The whole “Freedom Fires” thing was a bad joke. At the time I thought that if they wanted to change the name to reflect the American Ideal, they should have called them “Profit Fries”. “Even More Profit Fries” if the menu had enough room.

Ask the french what they call email. This started before the “freedom fries” thing. They HATE any English encroachment on “their language”Basically, they started the whole “war on language” thing.

We can all agree that leftists opposed any effort to establish freedom and democracy in Iraq. The good people of Ukraine are beginning to realize that their freedom has no support in this administration.

Funny, Night-Gaunt49, I seem to remember being trained on the laws of war, including legal and illegal combatants, all the way back in the 80’s. Just because YOU weren’t aware of it doesn’t mean it wasn’t in common use by those who needed to know about it.

But I’m one of those “evil baby killing military types” you rant about, so what do I know?

BTW, have you ever actually spoken with an Iraqi, or just read your assigned talking points? The ones I worked with last year (in Iraq, no less…) have some serious complaints about how we handled the invasion, but they still preferred us to Saddam.
