That carnivore looks strangely like Wolfie. Since we haven;t seen him for a while, has he returned to the wild kingdom?

If she wants to look like the carnivore she needs to hunt like them. Carnivores are likley thinner cause they can go more days without catching prey successfully. That is why many carnivores are also scavengers.

Herbivores have little problem finding things to eat and thus can eat all the time.

There are two approaches to survival: cockroach and cat. The cockroach can eat just about anything including a lot of stuff not considered food (including plastics, rubber or just about anything organic). The cat, on the other hand, is limited in the kind of food it can eat. The cat lacks about half the intestines it “needs” so it can run faster and catch the limited kind of food it can eat (which if you listen to cat food commercials is tuna – yup, my 10-lb tabby is swimming with the sharks in the open ocean taking on 100 lb tuna).

As today’s strip points out, humanoids downsized their stomachs once they started eating meat. The protein and calories are a lot more concentrated, so you don’t need to eat a lot of it and you don’t have to work as hard to extract nutrients out of it. We’ve taken one step away from the cockroach in favor of the cat.

So it’s a pretty safe bet the Fat Broad is an herbivore.

Malaria is carried by mosquitoes, not tsetse flies. Some sources state that malaria kills over a million people a year, while Wikipedia states that trypanosiasis (sleeping sickness with tsetse as the vector) killed around 10,000 in 2010. Probably makes the mosquito the biggest killer of humans in the animal kingdom, depending on definition. The mosquito itself doesn’t kill, but it injects the organism that does.

i had malaria back in my west Africa days, didn’t kill me but did make death look inviting for a few days. Number 2 son got west nile virus and didn’t even have to leave Florida, still weak from it a year and a half later. If a man hires a hit man, he is still guilty of murder even if the hit man physically does the deed. Methinks mosquitoes deserve the credit even if they use bacteria or viruses for agents of killing. And remember most mosquitoes don’t bite or bother anybody. Some even eat the dangerous ones. Be kind to THOSE.
