That’s pretty much what happened to a Mazda 929 I owned many years ago.

I’ve never even bought a car with less than 90,000 already on it.

    I guess I got the glued-back-together pieces….sigh….

    They’ve served me well, though…

Funny. The timing of the (former) 60K warranty was perfect.

Must be a 60,000 mile warranty. My dad had a 2000 Nissan Maxima that was at 393,000 miles or so when he traded it in in 2013.

This is why we buy slightly used GM Certified. Save quite a few bucks over the brand new out the door price and actually get a much better warranty…

Why can’t they notify me by mail that my warranty has expired?!

I drove the ’76 Volare I bought in 1986 until late in 2001…and put about 150,000 more miles on top of the 93,000 it already had on it.

$700. Plus….. in 15 years….. one valve job, by a whiz kid backyard mechanic… one rebuilt radiator, one carburetor, a new one only cos a rebuilt one was more expensive(??) …. can’t count batteries and tires…one brake fluid sending unit…. one oil sending unit…. that’s all I can think of.Oh yeah… a water pump… and I don’t do the work myself, so I’m paying mechanics. But the total, including car purchase … still less than $2,000.Besides, a new car probably would have required repairs in 15 years of driving, too.Yeah, it only got 15 mpg, but I drove an average 10,000 a year… no way I’d be ahead by buying a Prius. And it looked pretty beat up by then…

but for me, that’s not a good enough reason to go into debt for a new car.

I checked on Lewie a few weeks back to see if she was still living and he is. I really hate we lost Duck and what happened to Al still makes me sick to this day.

Man I messed up both thost first two post I made tonight. I typed ‘she’ for ‘he’ on the first one. Lewie was obviously not female! On the second one I meant to be implying my co-worker was shocked at how much he looked just like Al did in those old photos. He knew who the group was but did not know the individuals until I sent him that photo.
