I posted on this a couple of days ago on Bok and yesterday on Lisa Benson, and I don’t feel like reposting. Anyone interested can look there. The point is that there is no reason to think that this incident is in any way contrary to the theory of global climate change.

Varvel’s grasp of science is clearly equal to his ability to write verse that scans.

Breaking news: Petrochemical-financed Security Thugs precipitously stripped Gary Varvel’s Metafictional Sense of Irony bare and fed it to a ravenous pack of 120 cynics which had been starved of facts for 5 years.

OR, for the love of heaven, people, this is just someone recognizing a very funny bit of IRONY?? PLEASE!!

I was amused by this Michael Savage. I was born during winter, in June.

Alll of you nay sayers, answer me this. Why then, if there is no Global Warming, have the snows of Kilimanjaro disappeared, the glaciers receded EVERYWHERE and all of the weather patterns – be they hurricanes, tornadoes or what have you – been increasing in strength for the last few years on an exponential scale?

ALL of that is exactly what Global Warming predicts. Oh, and it also predicts COLDER winters, but warmer summers. And we know that the last 10 years have been the highest Global temperatures since we began collecting data. Yes, past eras have had waming and cooling periods too, but NONE with this rapidity. In other words, you can talk all you like and make jokes all you like, but Global Warming IS a reality. Deal with it!

Anyone that wonders if MMGW is science or a religion, can just read the comments here for a definitive answer.

Hint: Science is built on facts. Religion is built on belief.

A simple home experiment you can do. Take an ice cube from the freezer, but it in a saucer. Let the cube melt, then put that melted “cube” back in the freezer. When that water is refrozen, take out another cube and compare the surface area of the cube, to that “puddle” that you refroze from the first cube. This will demonstrate how warming of the Antarctic ice, and refreezing in a thinner sheet, WILL cover a larger surface area of the surrounding sea.

So?.Climate change occurs. The Earth is hardly some static system that never changes..That said, there is scant proof that anthroprogenic CO2 is the primary, or only cause of climate change. That’s the difference.Those who buy in to Gorebal Warming accept that as gosphel. More reasonable views are that the climate is changing and the jury is still out on what are the causes. I for one do not think some academic can accurately model a planetary atmospheric system that is effected by so many variables.

This is completely idiotic. There is warmer water under the ice shelf causing real damage, regardless of what is happening on the surface.

It’s as if Varvel heard there was a burglar in his house, drove by and saw the lights were out and so decided things were safe and that there was no need for anyone to look inside.
