It would say: I live in the United States and we still may make some choices by ourselves. I can afford it; I like it; and I bought it. That is still my right. I know that many of you are jealous of me because I have worked hard and achieved independence. But that does not mean that I have to give up my stuff to be equal with those who have not done the same.

The strip is clearly dated 10-27-2010…. nobody’s trying to fool you.
Several of the comics I read on this site are in re-runs right now.
Maybe it’s considered the slow season and the best time to take a break.
Maybe it takes so long for some artists to draw a daily strip that there isn’t time to do extras to cover vacations….
or maybe some only have so many usable ideas in a year….
In any case, everybody needs a little time off now and then …. don’t you?
