I’ve got a photo of a tardigrade saved to my computer. It is one of the most fascinating and, yes, cute things to look at. And I keep thinking – if someone on the Sy-Fy’s “Face Off” had come up with a mask like it, the judges would say it was too symmetrical and unbelievable.
I doubt tardigrades are overengineered. First, there’s no design or creation in a living creature. Second, how do we know if they’re the surviving species of a lineage of critters, successfully adapting to their environment?

How can something that evolved randomly from nothingness be “engineered”?
