Jason: <Shake! Shake! Shake!>
Paige: <Shake! Shake! Shake!>
Peter: <Shake! Shake! Shake!>
Roger: Did you notice the kids giggling as they went to bed?
Andy: Maybe you should open the champaigne outside.
I’m disappointed. I expected Jason to come up with a nerdier method than manually shaking the bottle: some sort of ultrasonic noise generator broadcast (or narrowcast) through a parabolic dish.
The champagne has been sitting too long for the shaking to have any effect. The carbon dioxide bubbles have been re-dissolved. You have to open it within about ten seconds of shaking for it to spray all over the place. Same with soda pop.

Shake the bottle all you want at 10PM. By midnight it won’t be a problem.
