If he’s inactive because of depression, that would actually be a win.

It really depends on whether you mean dangerous as an individual (an average crocodile is more dangerous than an average human) or as a species (I don’t think any other Earth population causes as much damage to the planet as humans).
I think Edith isn’t ready to really let her mother go. She accepted Mom isn’t here, but allowing someone else to take her place would mean also to accept she is gone forever and never coming back.
Her dad should really sit her down and talk to her to help her process this. Losing a mother during childhood is a big trauma, it’s unlikely Edith is able to work through this successfully on her own.
Two reasons why this could help:- you will have the time to solve the other problems- some of the other questions may contain a hint that helps you solve the hard question
I used the latter during history quizes at high school level. The teacher always prepared a test of about twenty question on the subject. Answers to some questions could be deduced from information within other questions. I barely ever studied and got on with Bs.

Yep. He’s a kid, you have no idea how he will react. If you can’t deliver the news face to face, ask an adult to be with him to provide support and steer him from doing anything dangerously stupid.
