My mother was a very religious cook – plenty of burnt offerings !Toast was burnt black and scrapped to a golden brown. I never knew that steak could be medium rare and roast beef rare until I grew up.When a restaurant advertises Home Cooking, I am reminded why I left.And yes, my mother was from Northern Ireland, which like England, is not exactly rife with gourmet cooking.

Today’s was slightly funny, but it does violate the principle that it’s funnier to show things than to merely talk about them. If it were a Sunday page, and the last panel had Flo setting fire to the meal (and possibly the kitchen….) while Andy was grousing about it, it would’ve really made me laugh.

@Number SixNice “Jailbirds”! I like the way you have such a broad range of humor for your different strips. Obviously “Jailbirds” has a much darker tone to fit the subject matter, but I enjoy both it and all your other ones. Please keep it up!

Today’s strip is too generic. Dialog could be used in a thousand strips.

This is a comment on the new format of the My Comics page in general, not on just this strip. Basically, I hate it. I liked the former layout where I could just scroll down to view all of my comics at a glance. Having to click to move them takes a lot longer, is choppier and the page is now filled with annoying advertisements that I’m not interested in.
