How does Miss Wormwood expect someone Calvin’s age to write such a paper?

I could write authoritatively on dinosaurs when I was Calvin’s age. Anything in which you’re interested draws you to study the subject in depth. I could spell them all in Latin.

Grinning like that, isn’t Calvin quite a personification of a tyrannosaurus rex itself?

If by “concise” you mean “lazy,” Calvin, then yes, you are a “concise” writer!

When I had assignments like this in school (in 500 words or more), I always had trouble coming up with the 500 words. I would take the topic and get right to the point of the subject. I was told by my teachers that although I covered the topic in concise, factual & complete detail, I needed to embellish more. (what am i? A politician?) Early lesson in B.S. makes the world go round!

Not bad considering he took 16 hours to make thinking caps for himself and Hobbes, think with his overgrown brain, draw exciting pictures………………………and 5 min to actually write it.

The minutia of Calvin’s topic is basically the personal interpretation of “scientists” on their pre-conceived notions of what that dinosaur should have been and what their environment was like, so Calvin’s paper is scientifically valid.

I couldn’t spell “CONCISE”, let alone what it meant, when I was Calvin’s age! Mr. Watterson should have been around years ago, maybe I would have been a little more attentive in school!

If Calvin is in Fourth Grade, perhaps (at six years old) he is as smart as he thinks he is.Or the school system really is out of whack.Or perhaps the school system was broken when someone was learning arithmetic.
