This is a reversal to when Holly stayed with Wally all night, after he was beaten shortly after they first met.

I’d suggest Maude to help Holly get through it all, but sadly, Maude is probably going through her own version of Hell right now. Linda too, :( . I hope all three survive the PTS they no doubt all have..but Holly’s got it particularly bad.

Wally really isn’t looked on favorably. Now he has to get it together for Holly. It seems to be, for Holly, a life or death struggle. I think Wally will man up for the job. Now that he has at least an inkling of what do do, he should make a list of what needs doing. with staying by Holly’s side, washing her face and little paws and spoon-feeding her. I know for a fact that both the face washing and feeding are the most comforting and restorative thing that can be done.

I was not one who had instinct for doing this, but my X, who is my best friend, he came from a situation where it was what he and his friends did. that was an eye opener for me.And I came to where, not spontainisly but realized that he needs That reciprocatedly.

No mention of a miscarriage. The baby is probably from a previous relationship prior to The End.

Are we sure this isn’t a mind trip? When I hear that someone needs a guide; I sometimes think of something of a telepathic journey. Maybe Wally is going to go into Holly’s memories the she entered his. Or perhaps the Oracle will help him on his journey?

I stil think Jacob Jackrabbit had a message passed to Wally while Holly was in prison: “Leave the house untouched, as a reminder of the violence ond corruption of the system. It wil help Holly win her case.”

Wally is a compassionate and practical loner who has fallen deply in love with someone who cares for him. He has his own demons, too. Right now, whatever hell Holly is going through, Wally is the only one who can take her through. And personally, I believe he’s willing and able to do it.

We still do not know when, or if, Jacob Jackrabbit will come down into Endtown. Yes, he has a speech planned soon, Wednesday I believe, but when is Wednesday in their world? Will he come down, or project a video? Changing government is not easy, but countries have done it several times in two years. If you click on the auction site over on the right, you may scroll down and find a print of Dr Chesley “humanity stinks” Chase, which I believe is still available in print form at a celery reasonable price, $20 if memory serves. Scroll down, and I think most of the May and June prints are available.(Someone please correct me if I’m mistaken). There is still a handy DONATE button near the bottom of the auction page. Life goes on, Aaron has 7000+ Endtowners to feed, not to mention the cat and mouse that live in his head are in serious need of therapy and industrial grade pharmaceuticals. I don’t know how many prints Aaron has to sell to saddle up and ride to the nearest library or Kinkos or UPS store to get internet access, If you can, you might want to buy more than one print. Thank you for your consideration. Also, voting at TopWebComics is appreciated. Vote ENDTOWN Vote ENDTOWN first generation Vote Doc Rat Sincerely & Respectfully,JusSayin

Doc says “sadly” not because he doubts Wally, but because it’s going to be a terrible ordeal. If he had any doubts, he wouldn’t have said Wally was qualified. He changed the subject pretty quickly when Wally asked about the baby. If Holly was pregnant before her arrest, Doc would know, and guess that Wally was the father, or not guess, if Holly told him. If so, he would consider Wally not just a responsible person, but the most responsible for Holly’s redemption.

I don’t think when Dr Chase mentioned “sadly”, he had doubts on Wally. I believe he was saying that its going to be a long arduous road for Holly’s recovery and its on Wallys shoulders now and she’s his responsibility, esp. with a miscarriage. If the both make it thru this, their bond will be stronger.

Well, they did let them out for the, er, “trial.” No idea what they were fed, whether they were fed, or if they were granted any time to, er, do certain things involving a toilet.#That Deputy Chief Security Rat seemed about to make a few changes before Marx stopped him…I would hope he might carry through if he ever gets free of what gripped him…

Maude said they were held for a month, and she also said they were locked in a closed room, lighted all the time. How would they possibly know how long she was in there unless someone had a watch that had not been tampered with.Given those conditions, if the rats, or whoever/whatever wanted to dissociate and strip them of any ties or secure bonds they had at home, they would have probably broken their subjects within three days, and deep into a Stockholm Syndrome-like mental state. Breaking them to the point where the HMFIC becomes almost a messianic figure.TSOJ pointed out after Maude selected Jacob as Defense Counsel, the trial would start in a week. I wonder just how long they were there. Opening statements first day of trial, witness testimony and cross, maybe three days before Closing statements, and closing the prosecution was an ass until he found a line he would not cross. Be a shame if from the secret files he found out Linda was friend or family until mutants were driven underground.I digress, but the rats and whoever was acting High Council must have some experience with behavior modification: Put the subjects in unfamiliar surroundings Cut all ties to outsideDeprive them of any control Disrupt sleep patterns Disrupt any routine morning coffee is a (bean) Reduce/eliminate protein intake

These are just basics of thought and behavior modification, and they work well against someone unprepared for such actions.

Docs bedside manner is practical. Don’t blow magical fairy dust at folks. Give them the facts not false hopes. The reality may be shocking but its better than being falsely led. When a doctor points his cane at you, you better listen. A great attention getting that one. Wally is a good prospect for Holly’s survival. He has a good heart he just needs to start sharing it. On the baby issue this can go many paths. In the holding cell her miscarriage would have been noticed by Maude and Linda. That is a very hard thing to hide especially no facilities so to say. So maybe it is a flash back from the stress of captivity. In the early days when or before she mutated she may have lost a baby in more ways than one.Maybe a good game of baseball will clear Wally’s mind. (ha)

Doc’s the only medical doctor in Endtown, and there’s apparently no licensed psychiatrist. That’s going to put a huge burden on Wally to say the right things at the right time, with absolutely no one to ask for help if things go wrong despite him.

Don’t forget that endtown has a brain scanner. – If you go back several story arces Flask was about to use it when she was stopped by Mallard. In return she vaporized the two scientist for waning Mallard about the impinding fate of his friends.

In other words… Doctor/Patient Privilege. You’d think after everything Wally did to help expose the political corruption, as well as helping to provide first-aid to the injured during the riot, he’d win at least some approval from Doctor Chase.Perhaps he has… but don’t expect the doctor to say it out loud…or right now.Looks like the doctor is giving Wally a chance to earn some more brownie points.Don’t blow it, Wally… Don’t blow it…

There’s nothing definite about when the baby was lost. The way she told Wally, “I lost the baby.” suggest it was a recent miscarriage, probably in her cell. That would explain why she was so drained during her testimony. I can see why Maude and Linda wouldn’t have said anything in public about this but I still have questions. How was Holly able to sprint across town at top speed after a miscarriage? Doc Chase should have examined Holly well enough to know about a recent miscarriage, why didn’t he tell Wally? His statement, “She’s had her world torn away…” could mean many things, more likely that her faith in Endtown and its inhabitants has been trashed. As always, we shall learn the truth when Aaron feels the time is right.

I think the good Doc sees Wally for better and worse. He know’s that Wally hasn’t exactly given that much of himself and is not (in his opinion) a great person to take care of somebody else, though the cat was willing to help those who were hurt from the massacre. He also knows how deeply Holly and Wally love each other. Hence he says that Wally is the only person for the job. He just wishes that he were better.

Back from Austin. Training day.My take on the Holly’s loss is that it is a past event. The other two with her would have known. The stress brought up old suppressed feelings and emotions she had dealt with in the past. When you are alone (I know she was with two but how much did they talk?) and under great stress you tend to drift back about things. Relive old experiences, question decisions made. It is one of the things prisons were initially designed for was to make one reflect about their crimes. No TV No Communication No Mail and at some prisons back in a time ago No visitors. I can remember judges giving a long sentence and saying “Reflect upon yourself as you are punished.” This incident may have forced Holly back to a time she would really wish she could wipe from her mind. Unless she has a mind wipe it will always be there. It may scab over but still the old wound remains. It go tore open again hence the situation we may be seeing. Something in her past maybe when she got to Endtown and lost a baby she was carrying then. Wally’s dream of holding back a monster may be a clue. What if the Radiation was too strong and caused a monster mutation upon birth. What if she was human when she lost the baby? Come into the nursery room and the virus has mutated it into a monster. This may even go back to the PEPO Stadium.Just reaching out a possible conclusions. But the severity strikes me as something Wally is going to really have to work on.
