As long as the Senate continues to “agree” that 60 votes are needed to pass, the party with 41 members controls the Senate. Alternatively, and probably just as likely, NO ONE controls the Senate. Regardless, the important thing is that nothing will ever get done, at a great cost to the taxpayer. Waste and fraud in government? Look no further than Congress.

Okay, a few questions:1) Where’s the little penguin guy (or whatever) with his comment?2) “Senateville – A dump for the Ages [what else is written there]”?3) Directly behind “Mama’s House of Ill Repute”: Is that “The Ore House”?

41 “lock-step” Senate Republicans can now hold hostage the 59% who are trying to get something done. We, the voters, need to force elimination of the “phantom” filibuster, the “silent” filibuster and “personal hold” and require a “talking” filibuster! A talking filibuster means that the filibuster bound Senator would have to come to the floor and actually talk on the issue. Maybe then the voters, already angry at congressional gridlock, would be even more fed up if forced to watch live filibusters tying up the Senate for weeks on end, and that might be deterrent enough to force a move to cut off debate and have a majority vote.

I think a “talking filibuster” is not too much to ask of folks who feel they have a reason to block every piece of legislation that comes up. If it was ok to force Wendy Davis to stand without touching anything for her entire filibuster, why do those poor excuses for men in Washington get to phone in their request for one?
