Second class citizens WILL win out over both Hamas AND Mossad…

Seems to me that this problem would have disappeared a long time ago if the apartheid policies of Israel had changed…Palestinians long ago showed a willingness to accept the “State of Israel”…but, NOT the “Jewish State of Israel”…where in all Palestinians (and other non-Jews) would continue to be “second class citizens!”

Check your history…FDR died in 1945…we were in transition from wartime economy to peacetime economy…tax rate was set at 94%. The rate fluctuated around 91% (for those making >$400,00) until 1963. The rate then stayed at or above 70% through the 70’s. The 1950’s, ‘60s and ’70’s were a great era of American growth and middle—class prosperity. Then the New Economy (aka conservative Republicans) began unraveling the American dream for millions of average people. This was the beginning of the economics "of the 1%, by the 1%, for the 1%.

    In this country,The wealthiest1% have 35% of the nations wealthThe wealthiest10% have 80% " " "The wealthiest20% have 85% " " "the bottom 80% have 15% " " "

I favor bringing back the 90% tax on the wealthiest!!

Speaking of memory…The cause of each of the financial crises this country has seen can be related to the greedy manipulations of the richest and most powerful. And it has turned out that most of the richest don’t lose…but it is left to the masses to bail out the economy …this is the lesson that some have learned…and many have forgotten. There is an old adage: Those who do not understand the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them…But, there is a corollary to this adage: The rich and powerful understand the lessons of history and are only too happy to repeat them!

Quote from somewhere: “There are two ideas of government. There are those who believe that if you will only legislate to make the well-to-do prosperous, their prosperity will leak through on those below. The Democratic idea, however, has been that if you legislate to make the masses prosperous, their prosperity will find its way up through every class which rests upon them.”

And who are the “masses”? The top 1% of households in this country own 35% of the nation’s wealth. The top 10% own 80%. The top 20% own 85% of this nation’s wealth.

Clearly, I am talking about the remaining 80% of the households which own only 15% of this nation’s wealth.

Increasing the minimum wage would go a long way toward improving the prosperity of the masses; adding money to the economy significantly improves the economy AND the prosperity of all those of the upper 20%. It is a win-win opportunity.

Oh yes, the Republicans have done everything they could to scuttle Obama’s every effort. Obama care isn’t everything we’d like it to be, it isn’t what it could be, but it is one hell-of-a-lot better than what used to be!!

I don’t see the death of the GOP…only a new breed of more centrist young people coming along to change it’s direction…call them the recovering Republicans…hopefully, this country can get back to the days when there was a significant overlap of centrists on both sides and bipartisanship really mattered.
