Not really. You can drop one from above with a rope or roll one down hill or down a flight of steps or you can use it in a close range fight. its one of the most classic of deadly instruments. I personally prefer the long range of a trombone my self.

Also Marigold rowing a boat Some one asked for it, now we got it. Now if I could just get her in a hat with a bobber on her tail then my summer will be complete.

Time to pick an alternate instrument, like the canoe oar or baseball bat. (What? They’re percussion instruments!)

She should take up the tuba. In case of danger, she could crawl inside it for protection!

There’s always time to change to the old and reliable saw.

Marigold even looks good in life jacket.Phoebe could borrow Schroeder’s toy piano if needed.

Silly OSHA rules. ?Don’t they know equines have interior floatation? .A chest life jacket would only interfere with their center of balance in the water. This looks like the required warning beep that you have to wear ear plugs to protect your ears from, thus increasing the safety risks because you can’t hear.

Phoebe’s bunkmate reminds me of a happier, less angry version of myself at that age. Sue’s gonna be harmless, and Phoebe’s gonna look like a scaredy cat for being so paranoid.

@bopard, I don’t know anything about equine flotation, but that life jacket seems more likely to choke her than to do anything useful.

@ Iron Ed: If you’re thinking of the cannons, the original score has instructions that they be fired by the conductor using electrical switches.

Unless you’re turning, you don’t switch what side you are paddling on. However, given the quality of canoe instruction I’ve seen from some camps, it would not surprise me to see them taught incorrectly.

@Iron Ed: J-stroke? Please, that’s a noisy and annoying stroke. Use a Canadian or Indian stroke.

Canadian: As J-stroke, but swing the feathered paddle forward so that it comes out of the water edge first.Indian: As Canadian, but never remove the paddle from the water, instead you unfeather it to begin the next power stroke. The Canadian has more power, the Indian is quieter, (done right it is completely silent).

I have a flute. Flutes are easier to play. And they reach longer than a clarinet…
